With many utility options, Audi A3 is a luxurious car like its own Audi Q5 SUV, with a hefty price tag of course! Its beautiful and dynamic interiors do win hearts. It has got great driving dynamics too and the fuel efficiency too doesn’t disappoint its users.


Features and trim levels
Audi A3, the four-door hatchback has got two trim levels. They are Premium and Premium Plus.
The standard features of the Premium trim are 17-inch wheels, leather upholstery, fog lights, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, tilt and telescoping steering wheel and a ten-speaker music system with satellite radio.

There is a Bluetooth Value Package too which features a multifunction steering wheel and Bluetooth and eight-way power adjusting driver seat.

The Premium Plus trim has got all the features of the Bluetooth Value Package of the Premium trim plus some additional features. They are LED running lights, aluminium interiors, xenon headlights and steering wheel shift paddles.

The Audi Navigation System Plus package gives an additional dash-mounted Audi Multi Media Interface, a navigation system and a choice of choosing between a six-CD changer or iPod interface oriented music system.


The Convenience Package of the Premium Plus trim level adds rear parking sensors, automatic headlights, auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic wipers and a Bose sound system.
In both the trims, there is an option of Cold Weather package. 

It features heated windshield washer nozzles, heated front seats, heated mirrors, rear side bags and a panoramic sunroof.

The Sport package adds 18-inch wheels, sport-tuned suspension, sport seats and summer tyres.
The Titanium Sport package features special interior and exterior trim to the Sport package’s already superior features.

Engine and its performance
The Audi A3 gives two engines in its cars. The first one is the 2.0-litre turbocharged gasoline four-cylinder engine that develops 207-pound feet of torque and 200 horsepower.

It has got front-wheel drive, a six-speed manual, and a six-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission. It is called the S Tronic.

There is an option of choosing the Quattro all-wheel-drive system but the S Tronic remains here too. This engine zooms from zero to sixty miles per hour in 7.2 seconds. With the manual one, EPA estimates the fuel efficiency to be 21 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on highways and with S Tronic the fuel efficiency drops to 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on highways.

The second engine is the 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel four-cylinder that develops 236 lb-ft torque and 140 horsepower. It zooms from 0-60 mph in 8.9 seconds. The fuel efficiency here comes to 30 mpg in the city and 42 mpg.


Safety
It’s got front-seat side airbags, antilock brakes and stability control and full-length side curtain airbags as the safety features.

Conclusion
With a versatile interior and a good performing engine, Audi A3 emerges out to be a good hatchback.
